Hot on the heels of the Royal Show Fashion Parades, Style Palace had no time to slow down the pace last week as we geared up for our biggest fashion shoot of the year – the Style Palace Princess Photo Shoot.
For those of you who follow us on Facebook, you may have read our live updates from the shoot throughout the day and you will know that a fun and crazy day was had by all. The shoot was held in a retail space on the corner of Perth’s premier shopping street in the CBD, King Street, and it was open to the general public so everyone was invited to stop by to see what really goes on behind the scenes at a fashion shoot.
It was a 6am start for all involved and a special thanks goes to Etro Bistro on King Street for supplying the team with early morning caffeine whilst Claire Levido from McMillan’s styled hair and Hendra Widjaja and Andjelka Matic did an amazing job with the girl’s makeup. Seeing five models having their hair and makeup done in the glass shopfront on King Street certainly made for interesting viewing for all the CBD workers arriving for work before 9am!
By mid morning our fashion photographer Stef King was shooting our 2010 Style Palace Princess, Lucy Nicol from Chadwick Models, and Josh Gilmour was busy shooting four models from local Perth agencies to create images for Style Palace’s new season lookbook. All our models did an amazing job to coordinate hundreds of outfit changes and have so much fun in front of the camera whilst being watched by the general public!
DJ Amanda Power jumped on the decks to provide a great atmosphere throughout the day and the boys from local Fremantle band, Gasoline Inc, dropped in at lunchtime to play a live acoustic performance to the lunchtime CBD crowd. Motorbike fanatics were also drawn to a Limited Edition 30th Anniversary Elvis Harley Davidson which is only one of 30 in the world and featured in some of the photos with our Princess.
The entire team did so well to keep to schedule and the shoot wrapped up around 4.30pm. It was brilliant to welcome media and hundreds of curious visitors throughout the day and we have to make mention of the construction supervisor who made a special visit to retrieve two of his workers who were enthralled by the shoot and had stayed for most of the morning to watch the action! A special congratulations also goes to Adele Haskett who entered the draw and was the lucky winner of a $500 Style Palace voucher and Cheryl Ellery who won a Becca Product Pack.
Style Palace has received the first raw images back from our photographers this week and we are absolutely delighted with them. We can’t wait to load them up on our website, the blog and on Facebook in the weeks to come so stay tuned!
In the meantime, jump online at www.stylepalace.com.au and check out all the new arrivals which have been delivered to the
Palace whilst we have been flat out with fashion parades and photo shoots – we are so excited! And if you were thinking of browsing for your Christmas list, be sure to tell Santa early because many of our new arrivals are in very high demand! Happy shopping! x
