One of the original band of models who coined the term ‘Supermodel’ and now fashion designer Gail Elliott will travel to Perth in September to unearth WA’s next top model at the 2011 Perth Fashion Festival (PFF) International Model Search presented by Claremont Quarter.

Gail is celebrated for her international modelling career having spent the last 20 years working for designers such as Gucci, Prada, Dior, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana and Versace. In 2002, she established her own fashion label, Little Joe Woman, sold across Australia.

Commenting on her involvement, Gail said, “I am honoured to be asked to participate in this year’s Festival, and excited to see the talent on offer. With models such as Nicole Trunfio and Gemma Ward hailing from Western Australia we are sure to see a number of stunning aspiring models entering the Search.

“I’ll be searching for a look which has longevity in the fashion industry. So often we see models come and go but I hope to find that fresh face that will go on to spend 10 or 20 years in the modelling industry,” said Ms Elliott.

The PFF International Model Search is an opportunity for aspiring Western Australian models to walk the runway and kick-start their modelling careers. PFF has been responsible for launching the careers of some of the country’s most sought after fashion models including Emily Cattermole, Nicole Trunfio, Fabienne Vanderhaegen, Dempsey Stewart and Tiah Eckhart.

The PFF International Model Search winner will secure fashion agency representation with Scene Model Agency as well as a place in the PFF final night show held at Fashion Paramount.

Heats for the 2011 PFF International Model Search presented by Claremont Quarter will be held on Thursday 8 September and Saturday 10 September at Claremont Quarter.
