Last Friday night the Style Palace Princesses frocked up for one of the biggest fashion events on the Perth calendar, STYLEAID 2011, which was held at the Burswood Grand Ballroom and based on all the Facebook photos posted over the past few days, you can tell the Princesses had a mighty good time!
But amongst all the champagne, fashion, cocktails, accessories, entertainment, glamour, dancing (and hangovers!), there was a very important cause behind STYLEAID and we wanted to take a quick minute to tell you about the positive outcomes of the evening.
Now in its fourteenth year, STYLEAID has raised more than $800,000 for the WA Aids Council throughout its history and Friday’s event raised more than $200,000 which will assist to fund education, prevention and community outreach programs and projects.
In addition, the night showcased a parade from exciting local and international designers including ae’lkemi, Morrison, Flannel, Aurelio Costarella, One Fell Swoop and more. One of the highlights of the parade was the Vivienne Westwood show from Dilettante which included a Vivienne Westwood impersonator who proudly took a bow at the end of the show with flowers in hand. Garth Cook also sent a model down the runway wearing an oversized bunny head costume.
All the Princesses stumbled home with gift bags full to the brim with goodies and Style Palace has been fielding enquiries since posting photos on Facebook requesting the various fashions worn by the team throughout the night. If you have your eye on Darlene’s dress, it was custom made by ae’lkemi and the Sumakhi dress and Lucette cape worn by Rebecca have already sold out. But the good news is – if you loved the Pia Gladys Perey dresses worn by Bianca and Natalie – Style Palace is expecting new arrivals from this designer any day now!
STYLEAID provided a great excuse to celebrate some great spring/summer collections whilst supporting a very worthy and important cause.
