Phew! The Style Palace Princesses have all returned to the Showroom today and things are back to normal following a very busy week at the 2010 Smokefree Perth Royal Show.
As the final parade drew to a close just after 4pm on Saturday afternoon, we looked back on the hectic week that was. We styled 22 parades over 8 days and welcomed close to 5,000 guests to the parades. We hosted more than 30 visitors from some of the biggest fashion brands in China, worked alongside some of the most talented farmers and shearers in WA and were surrounded by more than 250 sheep, goats and animals.
We worked with five models, coordinated more than 500 outfit changes from a dozen local and international designers, and recruited more than 20 volunteer ‘father-of-the-brides’ to walk our bride down the catwalk. More than 500 people entered the draw to win a $250 Style Palace gift voucher and we are delighted to announce the lucky winner was Jan Fawcett.
In between the shows and frivolity we all managed to step in sheep manure at least once a day (it wouldn’t be the Royal Show without it!) and bought more show bags than we care to admit (all for family and friends of course!). Style Palace enjoyed showcasing the best of wool, cotton, silk and natural fibres at the Show this year and we thank Australian Wool Innovation and the Royal Agricultural Society for the opportunity to coordinate the event. We would also like to extend a special thank you to everyone who took the time to drop in to the Jim Horwood Sheep, Shearing and Wool Pavilion to say hello.
Most importantly – the excitement doesn’t stop! We arrived back at the Palace today to find our delivery man was kept very busy last week and the Palace is piled high with plenty of exciting new arrivals! We are also turning our attention to another very special Style Palace event which will be hosted in Perth next week on Friday, 15 October – more details to follow soon!
